THE PROJECT

Faebrew combines simple elements and fine craftmanship for a unique look. This project is a reinterpretation of the minimalist look, with natural materials such as reclaimed wood and felt defining the decor. In particular, the feature wall highlights individual geometric panels that connect together to form a giant plane, placed onto LED backlights. Nature, Minimalism and Flight are the inspirations. The themes of nature and minimalism is meant to make the cafe look more interesting and less monotonous. "Fae" of Faebrew means flying; the focal point of the wall panelling is designed from the meaning and formed like the plane's wings. The simple style for the space matches the cafe's business model: Craft Coffee, Bar Style.

*This project is a silver A'Design Award winner in Interior Space and Exhibition design 2016-2017.

THE CHALLENGE

The felt panelling for the feature wall was the most challenging aspect of the design process. We were fortunate enough to be able to: 1. Source a good supplier for the material and find a forward-thinking millwork company and 2. Reiterating on the original design to adjust to budget and technicalities. By no small feat, the difficult implementation of the felt wall was accomplished, much to the client's satisfaction!
